And thanks to the magic liver it manages to do so, but the resulting effect is not long-lasting. For the full effect, you need a miracle cake, which you are prepared to make, but you need ingredients. And it’s not the easiest of tasks, as you have to do battle with some serious opponents. Whereas in the original version the battle was over souls, here it is over the necessary ingredients.
And until they are collected, you can use an astral biscuit to control the bowl. Even though it’s a playable character, you can’t choose her place as a Mug or a Chalice, you have to equip everything in the skill to fight bosses.
But any action is worth it, as the Cup is different in many ways from the others in terms of characteristics. It should be said right away that there are 4 lives rather than 3, which makes the battle easier. There’s also a double jump. Also, parrying when interacting with pink objects is done with a jerk, so you don’t have to click anything else.
On the one hand it feels like the gameplay is getting too easy, and that may be so. But the boss is always a formidable foe, so you have to be extremely careful and cautious.
The shop is full of items that make gameplay even more comfortable. The heart ring, for example, adds to the mechanics of the game, which was not enough in the original version. As for the new weapons, the Nutcracker, which fires in a straight line and inflicts serious damage on your enemies in close combat, deserves special attention.
The appeal of
The very first Cuphead fans may say that the game has become too casual, but it hasn’t become more difficult. Even with bonuses you have to try hard when fighting a boss. Also it was decided to abandon the levels where you have to destroy small enemies, you should only pay attention to the large enemies. And any of the enemies, of which there are 6 in total, deserve respect and are simply delightful. It’s all about the visuals first, but we shouldn’t forget about the gameplay variety.
This is the kind of game where even the boss transition from phase to phase can be called a spoiler. It becomes clear why a lot of time has been spent on the development of the add-on. Overall, everything looks almost perfect.
